Who controls the mailing list of LJ users who want to receive information, anyway? Who has permission to send stuff to it? Is it even an actual list set up somewhere, or is it just a hypothetical list formed from the results of SELECT email FROM user WHERE allow_getljnews = 'Y'? If so, who has the permissions to run said query?

IMHO further Webby cheerleading should take the form of a single email to that list. More than one email would be excessive and cause more unsubscriptions than necessary, and more preaching to the converted in lj_* isn't going to help any.
