If I'm not mistaken, this is 'also' the suggestions department as opposed to lj_suggestions, now?
My suggestion is that you enable the home client (win32 in my case) to respond to calls from outside so that you can implement a "Click to add Friend" from the site content, along the lines of 'Cliick to Add Buddy', 'Click to Send Message'. This would be rather easy to do using the web client, as well, but I like the idea that using the home client we could stay on the page where the potential Friend's name occured, and let the client do all the work, allowing us to continue browsing from that point on.
And I think it might even be possible to provide an MIE plugin for the right mouse-click menu, but that's getting way overboard.
